The 2020 Game Awards are upon us, bringing a hint of normalcy to what has certainly been an abnormal year. Producer and creator Geoff Keighley will once again honor the best of what gaming had to offer in the past year, and while the awards are a key part of the show, fans are also tuning in to hear the words “world premiere” ahead sneak peeks of upcoming titles.

While there are still some details being held close to the vest by Keighley and the Game Awards team, here’s a brief rundown of what has been confirmed for the show so far.

Dragon Age

One of the first games to be confirmed for a Game Awards reveal was Dragon Age, which will be presenting an “exclusive new look.” What that new look entails is yet to be determined, but BioWare sometimes shows very little at events like this so keep expectations in check.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Warzone

The first season of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s multiplayer, as well as the first post-Cold War update to the Warzone battle royale standalone game, are set to be unveiled.

Fortnite

Sneaking the announcement into a Periscope livestream during rehearsal, Keighley confirmed that Fortnite fans can look forward to new news from Epic Games.

Super Smash Brothers Ultimate DLC 8

The eighth downloadable character for Super Smash Brothers Ultimate has been confirmed by Nintendo to be revealed during the show tonight. Crash Bandicoot? Sora? Ryu Hayabusa? The possibilities are endless.

One of the biggest success stories of the year, Among Us and developer Innersloth will be unveiling the multiplayer sensation’s brand new map for the first time.

Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout’s New Season

NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139…

The previously Japan-only prequel to the highly successful NieR: Automata has been confirmed for the Game Awards pre-show, which starts at 3:30 p.m. PT.

Crimson Desert

This new MMO by Black Desert Online developer Pearl Abyss was confirmed last week to be showing its first ever gameplay trailer during the awards show.

Scavengers

Some “seriously exciting news” will be coming from Midwinter Entertainment’s multiplayer shooter, though nothing more has been said about the announcement since.

Elite Dangerous: Odyssey

The next adventure for Elite Dangerous fans was teased as a Game Awards announcement, with a 30-second video giving fans even more to whet the palate before showtime.

It Takes Two

First unveiled during the EA Play 2020 event back in June, Hazelight Studio’s next venture after A Way Out, known as It Takes Two, will see its first gameplay trailer shown during this year’s Game Awards.

Warhammer 40K: Darktide

The four-player co-op Warhammer game will be showing gameplay for the first time on Thursday night after being revealed at the Xbox Showcase in July. The game was also recently revealed to be coming to Xbox Game Pass on the day it launches.

The Elder Scrolls Online

The next expansion to Zenimax Online Studio’s popular MMO has been confirmed to be making an appearance at The Game Awards, though there’s not much to glean from the small teaser in the announcement tweet.

Striking Distance Studios

A brand new game from a brand new studio, Striking Distance Studios, will debut during the Game Awards. Striking Distance was originally created to develop story-based games in the PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS universe, so perhaps that’s what we’ll see.
