The League of Legends Championship Series (LCS) has partnered with Blood Centers of America (BCA), the gaming organization announced on Tuesday.

Throughout March, LCS will launch First Blood Saves, a campaign designed to drive donations of convalescent plasma to help combat COVID-19. According to the BCA, convalescent plasma is an antibody-rich substance, and can help provide COVID treatment by using the antibodies in the plasma. League players who are interested in participating can register through the CCP website.

There are two options to participate in First Blood Saves. Participants who have had COVID-19 can book an appointment to donate convalescent plasma. Those who have not had the virus can still participate by completing a full blood donation. Donors who participate will receive a redeemable code for the K/DA All Out Kai’Sa epic skin.

The partnership is not the first effort Riot Games has initiated to fight the ongoing pandemic, as the video game company also held multiple events throughout 2020 to provide relief for COVID-19. In March, the co-founders Marc Merrill and Brandon Beck donated $1.5 million to Los Angeles to fight the pandemic. In May, Riot hosted a 48-hour charity stream to raise funds for COVID-19 relief. Finally, in June, Riot launched a new line of League skins, all proceeds directed towards supporting doctors and nurses on the front lines of the pandemic.
